Certified Gastroenterology Coder (CGIC)™ Online Training Course
The CGIC Online Training Course will ensure you’re ready to prove your ability to apply accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT®, and HCPCS Level II codes and modifiers for reporting gastroenterological procedures. CGIC training also covers the many coding intricacies of surgical procedures performed by gastroenterologists, such as gastric or duodenal intubation, enteroscopy, mediastinotomy, hernia repair, and more.

Education and experience
At least two years of gastroenterology coding experience and knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pathophysiology are required to successfully complete this course. AAPC offers the following prerequisites:
Fundamentals of Medicine — covers all three of the prerequisites below.
Anatomy (self-paced instruction), Medical Terminology (self-paced instruction), and Pathophysiology (self-paced instruction).

Self-paced: Average time to completion is 4 hours (not including additional study time). Access available for one year from purchase date.

Our CGIC Online Training Course will strengthen your ability to read and abstract physician office and operative notes accurately.
