Fundamentals of Medicine Course
Learning the language of healthcare does not need to be slow and tedious.
AAPC has combined all three recommended prerequisites courses (medical terminology, anatomy, and pathophysiology) into one course to speed up the process and to quickly prepare you for your medical coding and billing coursework.
When to enroll
This course is applicable for beginners with no healthcare experience or for professionals who need to refresh their knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pathophysiology prior to starting training for the CPC, CPB, CPPM, COC, CIC, and CRC.

Education and experience requirements
No experience necessary. AAPC prerequisite courses are recommended, but not required.
Course length
Self-paced: Average time of completion is 40 hours over two to three months.
Instructor-led: 12 weeks from start date to completion. New courses start every week.
Continuing education units
20 CEUs for AAPC-certified members. CEUs are only applicable to CPC, CPPM, COC, CPB, CIC, and CRC credentials.
