Worried about how to code NOTRs once ICD-10 hits Oct. 1? Don’t sweat it.
Question: How should hospices code the Notice of Termination/Revocation when the patient’s admission is before Oct. 1, but the live discharge is on or after?
Answer: “When entering a NOTR, providers should select option 49,” Medicare Administrative Contractor National Government Services says in a recent ICD-10 question-and-answer set for hospices. “The NOTR does not require a diagnosis.”
