We are a FP/Internal Medicine clinic providing this service to our patients.

Is the code for pt established hookup in the home a billable service?

We've been given 93242 and 93244 to use for billing. Our provider only listed 93244 on the claim.

Thanks.

Medical professionals may bill for the on-site application if appropriate (93242 greater than 48 hours and up to 7 days, or 93246 for greater than 7 days up to 15 days) and the final interpretation of the results (93244 greater than 48 hours and up to 7 days, or 93248 for greater than 7 days up to 15 days). iRhythm Technologies will bill the patient's insurance for the technical component (93243 greater than 48 hours and up to 7 days, or 93247 for greater than 7 days up to 15 days).

Can my clinic bill for the hook-up of the monitor and what are the appropriate CPT codes?

In the Home Enrollment program, patients are sent the monitors for home application and clinics cannot bill for the hook up. Clinics can continue to bill for physician interpretation using CPT code: 93244 greater than 48 hours and up to 7 days, or 93248 for greater than 7 days up to 15 days

Whatever Zio device the patient may have, if the patient is applying the device at home, you cannot bill for the on-site application (93242 or 93246).
