Can anyone tell me the best code for smoking on oxygen?

IMO, (I am still fairly new to coding) not really enough information to offer accurate icd-10s, but here are a few choices (if you are referring to smoking cigarettes that is):

If no burns (due to concomitant use) are reported pick the correct two icd codes.

Z99.81 (Dependence/long term use of oxygen)

Z72.0 (Tobacco use)

F17.210 (cigarette dependence) if notated in doc's note

F17.219 (cigarette dependence with disorder) if notated in doc's note

Someone with more experience will likely come along as well.

If you are referring to a patient that uses tobacco and is currently on home oxygen then you would be looking at Z99.81 and Z72.0 if not specified as a patient having dependence or being a smoker.

More information would be helpful.
