Can I use 99050 as an add on code to endoscopy procedures done in our office suite on Saturdays? I know I can add it to office visits, but for some reason I thought I could not add it to procedures. Thanks! :)

"Associated basic service"

In the CPT book under the medicine section, subsection Special Services, Procedures and Reports (where the code is listed), the notes state that "coded 99050-99060 are reported in addition to an associated basic service." While a "basic service" is not further defined, it would probably be difficult to classify some of those procedures as "basic services." An office visit, yes, but not so sure about a colonoscopy or whatever procedure is done at that time.
