I hope someone can help me. The doctor performed "Left cephalic and basilic vein harvest." No other procedure was performed.
CPT code 35500 is an add on code that requires a primary code. Is there another CPT code for harvesting alone?
 
"Because +35500 is an add on code, payers will not reimburse you if you report it without an appropriate primary code for the initial service: 33510 to 33514, 33516 to 33519, 33521 to 33523, 33530, 33533 to 33536, 35556, 35566, 35570, 35571, 35583, 35585, 35587."

Is there explanation as to why there was vein harvesting and then nothing else done?
