Pt had a twin pregnancy, twin A was fetus papyraceus at 18wks. Pt delivered baby B at 38 wks. When coding the delivery, would you code O31.0 (Papyraceous fetus) for the trimester that the fetus died? or would you code O31.2 (Continuing pregnancy after intrauterine death of one fetus or more) with the trimester that the pt delivered in? Or would both be coded?

I am thinking that both would be coded, but not sure.

Anyone have any knowledge with this? I would appreciate any input I can get.
