Can anyone tell me how to code a telehealth visit if the physician and patient are at the same location. ( ie, Dr. in his office , but patient in a room. ) I am not sure if this is even allowed or not.

I have to admit that I'm curious as to why you would do this. The point of telehealth is to minimize the number of people coming into contact with one another and leaving their homes. But regardless, according to the CMS FAQ, this is not telehealth as the provider and patient are in the same location.

I would agree with csperoni. Telehealth is remote patient care and being separated by a couple of walls isn't remote and if you bill the visit that way,I would consider it fraudulent or at least abuse.
