Hi! I work at a facility where we bill for both professional and technical services. When we have patients come in for a post op visit, we've been billing 99024 for the professional and using a 99212 for the technical piece. Is this correct? Can we charge a facility charge during the global period? Or should they both be 99024? Any help is appreciated.

Global periods apply only to professional services paid under the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. There is no global period in the OPPS which is how a facility is reimbursed, so it's appropriate for the hospital to charge for use of their resources.
