Hello,
My practice is CLIA certified to bill for tear labs however Medicare is denying all of our claims billed as 83861 QW LT and 83861 QW RT. I heard today that Medicare will only reimburse 1 unit . Are you getting paid by Medicare for billing tear labs ? I'd need to notify my scribes but I am not sure how to correctly bill . Your help is very much appreciated.

Hi,
We bill the same and have not seen denials as of yet but we also haven't had any claims with them process for 2021 yet. They probably want to see 83861 50 QW like bilateral procedures. What is your mac?
