We are getting an edit stating that L55.1 requires a related causes code but this is a clinic claim. Has anyone experienced this before?

By clinic claim, the patient was seen in a Rural Health Clinic and we are not required to put external causes codes.

Okay, but is it going to cause a problem if you DO put the cause on the claim?
