Hi Everyone,

I'm stumped on coding for the following surgery for a Grade IV splenic injury. Op note states the procedures as:

1. Exploratory laparotomy with splenectomy complicated by hemorrhagic shock
2. Splenic Autotransplantation

I would normally code the splenectomy 38100; however, I have never seen a "splenic autotransplantation" before and am unsure how to code this.

Can anyone help?
