Does anyone have reference material for the coding of slant back procedures? One of our podiatrists has indicated that a slant back is just a matter of angling a nipper so as to cut the offending portion of nail or spicule out from the border. She stated that she typically tries to code "debridement of nail 1-5" for those issues. I'm looking for some type of official information to share with our coding staff. The documentation does not usually include much detail. Thanks.
