Is a transection of the isthmus code 60200 included in 31603 emergent tracheostomy code or can you bill these 2 codes separately? Thanks
 
In 60200 "The provider removes a cyst or a blood–filled growth from the thyroid gland, or incises the tissue that connects the right and left side of the thyroid gland in the front of the throat."

In 31603 "If needed, the provider excises the thyroid isthmus."

Documentation would need to support the separate procedure to bill for both.
