Job Description – Forensic Certified Professional Coder


The Forensic Certified Professional Coder (CPC) will work with provider billers on a daily basis to negotiate bills that do not fall under a fee schedule. Our ideal candidate will have experience with NYS and/or NJ fee schedule, writing affidavits, and have Auto/No Fault experience (preferred). The Forensic Certified Professional Coder will also review bills and corresponding medical notes to determine the point of stabilization on DWI cases, incidents of syncope, heart attack, stroke and other medical conditions that are not accident related.

A few of the tasks that would be involved are:

  • Reviewing medical bills and auditing those bills for validity and accuracy.
  • Ensure coding and charges are supported by appropriate clinical documentation
  • Write legally sound affidavits to be submitted for arbitration and litigation purposes
  • May have to testify in relation to an audit or affidavit they have written.
Education & Experience:
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certification
  • Certification in Medical Coding
  • Comprehensive Knowledge of International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10)
  • Experience with Workers Compensation, No-Fault Insurance Medical Bills, Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs) and Enhanced Ambulatory Patient Groups (EAPGs)
  • Must have experience with NYS and/or NJ Fee Schedule
  • Must have experience in writing Affidavits
  • May have to testify in relation to an audit or affidavit they have written.


License/Certification:

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
Our compensation includes:

Pay: $55,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year – (commensurate to experience)
