Question on correct CPT for Revision of Transmetatarsal amputation
* A transmetatarsal amputation was previously performed and no the provider is removing some more of the foot but not performing a Chopart amputation. I am reviewing CPT 28112 but it defines a procedure for removal of a metatarsal bon but the patient still has a toe.
* Patient no longer has toes

Thank you

Confused: You can remove some of the metatarsal bone without removing the toe, but I don't understand how you could perform a metatarsal amputation and keep the toe. The toe would go with the amputated metatarsal bone. Code 28112 would never be used for amputation.
