I am in need of advice. The physician replaced a MediPort (catheter and port). I am thinking the only code to be reported should be 36582. The hospital, however, is reporting 36582 and 36590 (removal, with pump, central or peripheral insertion). This was performed through the same incision but the physician had to push the new catheter further into the superior vena cava. Am I right or is the hospital right?
Thanks in advance for your help! :D
