Wiki removing staple from pt's hand in OR

Hi everyone,

I'm stumped on how to code a patient that had a staple removed in the OR. Pt has an industrial strength staple on the volar aspect of the wrist. Pt was taken to ER due to risk of infection. The staple was removed with pliers. The tracks of the staple were curetted down to the bone, which was then scraped and wound irrigated (left open with sterile dressing applied).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
