During the same EGD, a polyp was removed from the mid area of the esophagus by hot biopsy forceps (43250) and a few cm further down a different polyp was removed using a snare technique (43251). Can both be billed together?

Depend on Payer

Some payers may reimburse for the fact that you used different techniques on different polyps. But, some may look at the fact the the body area is the same and see this as unbundling.
I would go ahead and use the 59 personally.:)

I would bill 43251 and 43250-59 because 43251 is a higher RVU and you append the 59 to the lesser RVU.
