I coded for removal of peritoneal dialysis catheter 49422. My provider removed the presternal cath at the same time. He thinks there should be another code to bill with the 49422 or is it included? I know there is an add-on code for when you insert the PD cath with the presteral cath, so that is also why he thinks there should be a code for the removal. Hope that makes since and any advice is greatly appreciated.
