Hello! I need the ICD 9 code for a removal of a pacemaker. The pt had a heart transplant so the device was no longer needed. Is there a removal only code? I'm not having much luck finding anything excpet remove and replace.
 
I thought so... I think it is odd that there isn't a removal only code. especially when for DNR's pacemakers are removed and not put back in or in cases of heart transplants where they are no longer needed..
