Hello, we are trying to determine whether CPT 73501, radiologic examination, hip, unilateral, with pelvis when performed; 1 view is the correct code for a hip image without pelvis. Thanks.

73500 (which is now a deleted code) was for 73500 hip, unilateral 1 view. If you look at the note in the cpt book, it says (73500 has been deleted. To report, use 73501). So in my opinion, 73501 would be the correct code because the one that would have been used, 73500, got deleted and specifically directs you to 73501.
