Can anyone provide any guidance if CPT 81281 - Long QT syndrome gene analyses (eg, KCNQ1, KCNH2, SCN5A, KCNE1, KCNE2, KCNJ2, CACNA1C, CAV3, SCN4B, AKAP, SNTA1, and ANK2); known familial sequence variant ?

If multiple genes are tested should we be billing multiple lines with modifier to avoid the duplicate denial ?

Any help is very much appreciated, Thank you !

Its like a panel code. units are not tried to the number of genes. MUE is 1. You would not bill 81281 x12
