Good morning, Does anyone know yet if the PT/OT ST V codes (V57.1, V57.2 and V57.3, V57.89) will change with the ICD-10 transition?

According to the CMS GEMS file these codes map to Z51.89 Encounter for other specified aftercare

https://www.cms.gov/medicare/coding/icd10/2015-icd-10-cm-and-gems.html

Although the guidelines aren't changing too much. Every single code will change as the format is changing. V codes will no longer exist under V. They will move to Z and may or may not have the same description under I10 as they did in ICD-9

Thank you very much

The guidelines for rehab have changed. You need to read the coding guidelines for this information. There is no equivalent to the V57 codes so they cannot be mapped over. The new guidelines direct that you use the reason for the rehab. Or aftercare following joint replacement if that is the reason. The aftercare guidelines specify that if the reason for the visit is aftercare for trauma or injury, you do not use aftercare Z codes.
