What code do you all use for "psoriasiform dermatitis?"

dermatitis

After researching dx 696.2; I really feel that the best option for this would be 692.89 - I am unsure how anyone else feels about this, but that is how I would personally code this one myself.

When I arrived on the job, I was instructed to us 696.2 for psoriasiform dermatitis, but it just doesn't seem like the right fit. 692.89 is a good suggestion. I think I will sit down with one of my dermpath docs and see what she says. I will let you know.

I talked with my derm pathologist today. She says that if she gives the diagnosis of "psoriasiform dermatitis" the best fit we have for that diagnosis is 692.9. She would not want any code from the psoriasis heading (696) to be used because "psoriasiform" indicates it's like psoriasis, but it could be other things.

On the other hand, if she says "psoriasiform dermatitis consistent with psoriasis," then we should use 696.1.
