Hi everyone

I am new to peds billing and really want to code correctly. My Dr. saw a patient and billed a 99213 with dx 466.11. She also wrote Nebulizer treatment with albuterol.
Do I also bill 94640 and J7316 for the albuterol? Do I have to attach any modifiers to any of the codes?

THANKS IN ADVANCE TO EVERYONE!!!!:)

nebulizer

I would think it is 94644, but would double check with the nurse or doctor since I don't have the chart note in front of me.
the E/M service should have a modifier 25.
There are several codes (j7609-7613) for the albuterol, so pick the one that matches the vial and be sure to charge the proper units

i'll advise you like i do everyone else. every pediatric coder needs aap's "coding for pediatrics" (2013). happy coding! lburke cpedc

I would bill 99213-25, 94640 and then the appropriate J code. Code 94644 is used if the treatment is for an hour and that is typically not the case in the office - at least not in my office!
