We have been told in the past not to bill supples with application of splints I know we do not bill supplies with the L codes (splints DME), but I do think we can bill for supplies in certain cases. Here is a note from one of Doc that I think we should bill application and supples codes.

We will place pt into an ulnar gutter short-arm fiberglass splint today.
I think we should bill application 29125 and supplies, Q codes. Am I wrong?

Please any advice will be appreciated.

Thank you Cathy

I am outpt office ...I always bill splint + Q supplies...never had a problem

I bill for this as 29125 (w/side mod) and Q4022 for fiberglass (11+yrs) or Q4024 (under 11yrs).
No problems with reimbursement here.
