What is the icd 10 code for acute bronchitis with asthama
 
J45.90 series its leads bronchitis with asthma, but my doubt is acute bronchitis with asthma. Becouse of,in icd 10 cm book we have separate codes for bronchitis(j40) and acute bronchitis(j20.9).please clarify how to code acute bronchitis with asthma
 
There is no with code in the index so id probably go with the following unless the physician is more specific in their notes. Really its Chronic Bronchitis NOS & Asthma NOS since the note is so vague.

J42 - Chronic bronchitis NOS
+
J45.9- (provider needs to be educated on how ICD wants more specifics on the asthma (Mild-Intermittent, Mild persistent, Moderate, severe)
