What are the differences between the two?

Y92.00- Unspecified means the notes do not indicate the type of residence. Say Doctor notes patient fell in her kitchen, well many types of dwellings have kitchens. Such as in the codes below in the Y92.0xx series

A kitchen could be in a single family home (Y92.01x) Mobile Home (Y92.02x) Apartment/Condo (Y92.03x) Boarding House, example renting a room is someones house on AirBNB (Y92.04x) or Other, meaning specified but not under one of the other codes, such as a commune (Y92.09x)

That's what I thought until I reviewed the answer.

This is what it says:
Patient used a razor to cut himself in a suicide attempt while at home in the bathroom today.

I answered Y92.002 but the answer was Y92.012.

Would it be ok to use Y92.01- when they use the term "home"?

for me there are different types of home, you can call apartment as a home, condo as a home, a mobile home as a home "obviously", and so on.
it's appropriate to code Y92.002 for this case
