We have a primary care doctor that visited a pt's nursing home without physically seeing her. He reviewed and signed all of the facility's orders and spent time with the nursing staff discussing pt. Is this a billable service? So far, I have excluded any of the subsequent nursing facility care codes as he didn't spend time at pt's bedside. I also do not see anything that fits under care management services. In HCPCS, Physician Services seems to only refer to home health services. Anyone have a similar scenerio?

Wow. Malpractice casing waiting to happen.
Thanks for your help. After further investigation, 99379 accurately codes this situation, as my doctor was supervising a SNF pt with the pt not present. As a primary care office, this is not a unique situation for us, just new for me as the doctors usually visit the patient's bedside. Have a sparkling day!
