HEY EVERYONE, I'M TRYING TO CODE A NM CARD WALK STRESS PERFUSION.
JUST NOTICE THE CODES FOR THIS PROCEDURE HAS BEEN DELETED, MY QUESTION IS: THE OLD CODES WERE AS FOLLOWED 78480,78465,78478 USE TOGETHER. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT TOOK IT'S PLACE?
I'M THINKING 78452 BY ITSELF. I DON'T SEE ANY ADD-ON'S EXCEPT ONE BUT IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT I NEED AM I MISSING SOMETHING? DO I NEED TO ADD SOMTHING ELSE TO 78452. I'M CODING THIS FOR A HOSPITAL RADIOLOGY READING ONLY.

IF ANYONE KNOWS, I WOULD APPRECIATE SOME FEEDBACK.
THANKS IN ADVANCE,

Coding Nuclear Test (78465-78478-78480 for 2010)

Thanks

:o

The new NM code for 2010 inlcudes both wall motion and ejection fraction. We do not have to code seperalty for this. Depending on what type of NM study was done, belwo are your choices:

78451(SPECT) single study rest or stress-including wall motion, ejection fraction
78452(SPECT) multiple study rest and/or stress-including wall motion,ejection fraction
78453(Planar) single study rest or stress-including wall motion, ejection fraction
78454(Planar) multiple study rest and/or stress-including wall motion,ejection fraction
