Patient came into office to have a intra oral buccal lesion removed with local anesthetic, doctor also used nitrous, what is the best code to use for nitrous in the medical setting? Thanks

Unless the level of sedation and documentation meets the requirements for moderate sedation (codes 99151-99157), it is not separately reportable. Nitrous oxide almost always qualifies as "minimal sedation (anxiolysis)" and is considered part of the surgical procedure.

Hope that helps!
