Hello Everyone,

Im very new to opthomology coding and I really need to get some kind of refresher course on the eye anatomy because the codes that this office hads been using don't necessarily coincide with what I would choose.

Can I please get your assistance for this particular procedure.

"Exam under anesthesia, disinsertion of right lateral rectus muscle, diathermy, inferior oblique myotomy insertion of radioactive 15.3mm ruthenium-106 plaque"

the older more seasoned coder here coded 67208 and 67218

not saying its necessarily wrong but I feel it is not capturing the procedure completely.

can I please get your opinons and shed some light?
I would greatly appreciate it

God Bless & Happy Holidays to all

Only thing that I see that is "missing" is the EUA - 92018. If you don't have one, may I suggest an Ophthalmic Coding Companion? I use the one from Optum360, but any that describes the procedure in more detail than the CPT will work.

Hope this helps!
