Does anyone have any good resources (books,websites,guidelines,etc) that they find useful when coding for Behavioral Health? Our clinic just recently brought on two Behavioral Health providers and I would appreciate any and all recommendations on coding for Behavioral Health as this will be a new specialty to me.

I have the Optum360 Behavioral Health Services code book, very detailed on the description of the services. You will need to be aware of the type of clinic(Rural Health) and what they can bill per insurance (IL Medicaid is all converted to T1015 for Rural Health) including the modifiers that apply per provider credentials. All encounters are billed based on time for psychotherapy (90832, 90834, 90837), make sure the documentation lists all the areas the provider needs to cover (Goals etc.). I would make sure you have a copy of the 95-97 E/M guidelines per system (Psychiatric), this will be beneficial when coding the 90791, 90792.
