I have just received my certification, but I have no experience. I have seen to have hit a wall with applications. Do you have any recommendations on how to get a job with coding? I have tried indeed, AAPC, and Zip recruiter. I would love to meet with my local chapter, so I can start making connections, but I work full time and I don’t really have time to take off during the week to go to these events, if I want any time for the interviews. I really just don’t know what to do in order with getting a job.

I am in the same position. I don't know how your local chapter works but in my area meetings are during the evening or on weekends. I have started applying for any medical office/hospital setting jobs, like front desk/reception work just to get some sort of work experience. If you have the May 2026 issue of that AAPC magazine there is a good article about the process from certified to actually working. It seems most people have a hard time getting a job regardless of their CPC or CPC-A status if they don't already have work place experience. I have also been working on getting as many free CEU's as possible and listing those on my resume/cover letter to show I'm actively working on learning more in the field and staying up to date on policies.
