Wiki New CPT Code 57465

Good Morning,

CPT code 57465 will be in effective January 2021.

57465=New Ob-Gyn colposcopy mapping code. Surgeons will have a new add-on code (57465) to report for mapping of the cervix uteri during colposcopy procedures.

Can someone tell me more about this code?
How can we bill out for it?

My understanding is that it is an add on code only if you are doing dynamic spectral imaging (DSI) mapping during a colposcopy, like with DYSISmap. We don't have that equipment in my office and will not be using it.

I don't mean to offend, but it almost sounds like you are thinking - here's a new CPT code, how can I bill for it to generate more revenue?
I have always gone by the train of thought that the clinicians should decide what equipment/procedures are appropriate for the patient and then it's my job to figure out how to get accurate reimbursement for the medically necessary services.
