Hello,

I am trying to find a diagnosis for End stage liver disease due to cirrhosis from Iron toxicity as a child. No mention of Fibrosis. Can anyone help me with this? My first thought was T45.4x1 with K71.7.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would code it like you have it (with the 7th character of course)! You have to remember in the code titles that the "and" can be interpreted as "and" or "or" so both do not need to be present. So the K71.7 states "Toxic liver disease with fibrosis and cirrhosis of liver", but it can also be read as "Toxic liver disease with fibrosis or cirrhosis of liver." Both fibrosis and cirrhosis are not need in order to use this code.
