Hi Everyone

We saw an 18 month old today because daycare found an small orange worm in her wet diaper- no poop, just wet. Dr. feels most likely crawled in from environment- pt has NO symptoms-parents just here to get a note for daycare. - we sent the worm for ID- but cannot find an ICD9 code to fit the visit- Can use V65.5 if desperate-but insur never pays. All the other codes are overkill- anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Just saw this. Yikes!
You may have been able to use V75.8, screening for parasitic infection.
This doesn't help you at this point, but you might want to consider it if you have to appeal a denial.
