Cardiologist implanting a new dual-chamber pacemaker (for sss & recurring syncope) and explanting a loop recorder; inserts leads into artery instead of vein; does create the pocket for the pulse generator. Discontinues procedure after discovering the artery was hit but does explant the loop recorder.

3 days later a general surgeon implants the PM but the Cardiologist does advance the leads and affix them to the myocardium.

This is over my head. This pt was a same day but converted to IP after the incident.

Coding professional fees. CPT codes Please?

Thanks!!!!!!

Wow! That's ugly. I think it would be 33207-53 & 33284-51 on the first trip. 33217-58 on the second time. What did the surgeon bill?
