Hello, I need advice coding Alcohol use disorder, severe, withdrawal, Depressive disorder... F10.24? Do I code withdrawal separately?

Alcohol with-drawl is actually classified under dependence - so I would use F10.230 - and then a separate code for the Depressive disorder. Unless the provider notes that the depression is from the dependence/with-drawl. (F10.24)

I’m pretty sure you will code the alcohol with withdrawal (F10.239) AND the alcohol with depression (F10.24). Provider documentation needs to specify that the depression and alcohol are not linked to code separately.
