Does anyone have an experience billing for this service? I have a physician that is wanting to start doing it and just wanted some advice on coding/payment issues etc.

I have started billing for Naltrexone pellet inplants. Insurance still considers it investigational? Help

Hello
We are considering the same, providing insertion of the Naltrexone pellet impant. Is this covered currently by insurances , and Medicaid, Medicare?
 
Looks like some commercial insurances still consider this drug experimental:

Aetna
PacficSource

If we use HCPCS J2315, then my coding assistant show a Medicare Payment Allowance, however that doesn't mean it's always payable. I would check with the patient's carrier before billing out this code.
