I'm hoping someone can clear the air on the use of Modifier 33.Is this modifier used on all IPPE and AW CPT/HCPCS codes or only when they are used with other E&M

Unbundeling services with AW and IPPE exams

Recently the push is on from administration to use certain category II codes not just for tracking but to take advantage of incentives offered by some 3rd party payers. For example screening risk for falls 2 or more 1100F and screening for depression 3725F CB and Univera were offering incentive for reporting .So we are now seeing this on all IPPE's and most AW .Reading code descriptions leads me to believe that this is not a separately billable service and that in actuality we are un bundling services.
