Wiki Medicare and 45388

Does Medicare not recognize this new code that replaced 45383? for Colonoscopy flexible with ablation? I am getting denials in NC. Thank you, Michelle Loyd, CPC

When 45383 was replaced with 45388, Medicare created their own G code:
G6024 (ablation). These changes went into effect Jan 1, 2015:

No one accepts 45383, Medicare only accepts G6024 and most commercial Medicare products want the G6024, but you should review their policy first.

Medicare also introduced two other G codes for ablation:
G6019 - thru stoma
G6022 - flex sig
