Hello,

This procedure was done to check the LIMA to see if the LAD was used on a previous bypass. The physician went into the brachial artery and the wire was advanced into ascending aorta. The lima angiogram was performed.
What CPT code can you use for a LIMA angiogram only ?

Thanks,

Kayla

I would consider 36216 and 75756 for a stand-alone LIMA angiogram without a heart cath/coronary angiogram during the same encounter. This code recommendation would be predicated on the physician actually selectively catheterizing the LIMA itself and not shooting the angiogram from a non-selective position (e.g., aorta, subclavian). I cannot tell for sure if you had selective catheterization n this case, but wanted to give a possible suggestion of codes once that detail is confirmed.

I hope that helps -have a great night.
