providers office performed in-house CBC which was abnormal resulting in sending out to lab for further testing. can both parties be paid for CBC? since lab billed first, they recieved payment and other got denied. is there a modifier to use for CBC(85025) for provider's office?

If your office performed a CBC, then why would another lab do a CBC on the same specimen? Or did you not perform a full CBC but something else?

in-house CBC was abnormal and provider wanted to verify with other lab

If the CBC was repeated due an abnormal result, you could have used a 91 modifier, but in this case, only one can bill for the CBC ( basically your lab is collaborating with another LAB for confirmation).

~ PS. modifier 90 where the Outside Lab would have to bill the provider and not patient's carrier. You bill and you pay the outside Lab ( mostly there's a client price ).
