When billing 85025, 80053, and 84443 the guidance is to bill panel code 80050 instead. However, what happens when the cbc/85025 was done at the doctor's office but the rest of the rest were sent to our own laboratory which is in a different city from the doctor's office? It would seem that due to the locations and provider of services, we could not bill for 80050 in this scenario. Has anyone had a similar situation happen?

I am with an insurance carrier, have a similar situation and the same question. In my case, all 3 codes were performed by the same medical group and even in the same building. 84444 and 80053 were billed Suite A and 85025 was done in Suite B on a different floor. Provider is stating that they cannot bill them under the lab panel code because they were not all done in the same location. Any input is appreciated.
