Hello,
I work for an OB/Gyn practice where the physicians review the wet preps (87210) & urine dips (81001/81015) along with several other lab tests via microscope themselves. The tests never go to the lab unless there is a problem. If no problem is seen, how would we bill for the labs? I feel this should not be charged to the insurance company as a true lab test since it was never evaluated by a lab tech & should be rolled up into the office visit?
I would appreciate any insight on how to handle this from fellow coders/billers.
Thank you in advance for your help!
