I need help with the CPT and the ICD10, please.
Postoperative Diagnosis : Right knee draining wound
Description of Procedure:...…, an incision was made over the medial aspect of the knee following removing an erythematous, edematous draining area in an elliptical fashion. This was carried down through the vastus medialis. The joint could be entered, following which this area was copiously irrigated. IrriSept was also utilized, following which vancomycin was inserted into the knee joint, following which the fascia over the vastus medialis was reapproximated.
Thank you,

Why is there a wound, is it postoperative, like post TKA dehiscence? Was it a traumatic wound, non-healing other type surgical wound, chronic ulcer, etc? If arthrotomy look at 27310. Most joints have their own specific CPT when arthrotomy for washout/infection/drainage etc. For example hip=27030. If surgical wound or dehiscence but no arthrotomy could also look at 13160. 27301 is not correct if an arthrotomy is done.
