My doctor is billing an office visit as well as J1642.....the ov got paid but
J1642 did not....is this even billable as being separate?

2nd question.... can you bill the heparin, J1642, with any other codes and expect to get paid for it??? IF so what codes and are modifiers needed?

Any help would be appreciated.
 
i think at this point it depends on the insurance company. we are learning that a lot of insurances, including medicare and anthem, are not covering heparin at all.
 
We hardly use the heparin and if we don't we just bill the port flush, heparin hardly ever get's paid. We are now using the cathflo J2997.
